Background Information
The ZFHX4 protein (Zinc Finger Homeobox Protein 4) belongs to the zinc finger transcription factor family. Its structure contains multiple zinc finger motifs and a homeobox domain. It mainly regulates the expression of specific genes by binding to DNA. This protein plays a crucial role in the development and differentiation of the nervous system, participating in the precise regulation of neuronal gene expression. In the adult stage, it is also related to muscle regeneration and the regulation of tumor occurrence (such as glioblastoma and melanoma), and may act as a transcriptional repressor to influence the balance of cell proliferation and differentiation.
