Background Information

Peptidyl-tRNA hydrolase 1 homolog(PTRH1), also known as PTH1, is peptidyl-tRNA hydrolase that cleaves nascent chains-tRNAs that are not stably fixed in the P-site of 60S ribosome-nascent chain complexes. PTRH1 functions in the ribosome-associated quality control (RQC) pathway and is involved in the degradation of nonubiquitinated nascent chain (NC) polypeptides arising from interrupted translation(PMID:30244831).
