Background Information

NUDT15 (nucleoside diphosphate-linked moiety X-type motif 15) is homologues to NUDT1 (MutT homologue 1, MTH1) and thus has previously been referred to as MTH2. NUDT15 is a key enzyme in thiopurine metabolism and tempers the activity of thiopurine drugs by catalyzing the hydrolysis of 6-thio-dGTP and 6-thio-GTP (PMID: 27530327, 32690945). NUDT15 is a 164-amino-acid protein that belongs to the nudix hydrolase enzyme family, whose members are capable of hydrolyzing compounds with the general structure of a nucleoside diphosphate linked to another moiety, X. (PMID: 25108385)
