Background Information
GPR180 is an orphan GPCR, also known as the Endothelial Thickness-Related Receptor (ITR), and is a member of the GOLDS domain seven transmembrane helix (GOST) protein family. This receptor was initially discovered to promote the proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells, leading to subsequent thickening of the vascular intima. GPR180 interacts with CTHRC1 to regulate the TGFβ signaling pathway, influencing energy metabolism and thermogenic function ( PMID: 34880217).
