  • Human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (1 x 10^6 cells/mL) were cultured in RPMI supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum, 50 μM β-mercaptoethanol, 2 mM L-glutamine, 100 U/mL penicillin and 100 μg/mL streptomycin sulfate. Cells were stimulated with 10 ug/mL PHA. The mean Caspase 1 concentration was determined to be 397.2 pg/mL in unstimulated PBMC supernatant and 788.6 pg/mL in PHA stimulated PBMC supernatant on day 5.
