Background Information
USP28(Ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase 28) is also named as KIAA1515. USP28 is a 53BP1-interacting protein and a putative deubiquitinating enzyme, and belongs to a family of enzymes, called deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs), which remove ubiquitin from the ubiquitin conjugates(PMID:16901786). It can be phosphorylated upon DNA damage at Ser-67 and Ser-714, by ATM or ATR(PMID:16901786). This protein has some isoforms produced by alternative splicing with the molecular mass of 122 kDa, 119 kDa and 66 kDa, and can be detected as 130-140 kDa (PMID: 16901786).
