Background Information
UNC79 protein is one of the key auxiliary subunits of the NALCN channel complex. Together with NALCN, FAM155A, and UNC80, it constitutes the NALCN channel body and is essential for maintaining neuronal excitability, motor function, pain sensitivity, and circadian rhythm (PMID: 35387979).
