Background Information
TSR2 (Pre-rRNA-processing protein TSR2 homolog), is as a ribosome maturation factor required for the processing of ribosomal RNA (rRNA) and the proper maturation of the small ribosomal subunit. TSR2 is involved in the maturation of SSU-rRNA from the tricistronic rRNA transcript, participating in early ribosome biogenesis
