Background Information
TRIM33, also named KIAA1113, RFG7, and TIF1G, belongs to the TRIM/RBCC family. It acts as an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase. TRIM33 promotes SMAD4 ubiquitination, nuclear exclusion, and degradation via the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway. It may act as a transcriptional repressor. It inhibits the transcriptional response to TGF-beta/BMP signaling cascade. TRIM33 plays a role in the control of cell proliferation. Its association with SMAD2 and SMAD3, TRIM33 stimulates erythroid differentiation of hematopoietic stem/progenitor. Defects in TRIM33 are a cause of thyroid papillary carcinoma (TPC). This antibody is specific to TRIM33. The calculated molecular weight of TRIM33 is 122kDa, but the molecular weight detected is about 140-150 kDa the same as the result from the paper(PMID:25639486;26592194).
