Background Information
Tmem64 (transmembrane protein 64) is a positive modulator of osteoclast differentiation by SERCA2-dependent Ca2+ signaling (PMID: 23395171). Altered Levels of mRNAs for Calcium-Binding/Associated Proteins, Annexin A1, S100A4, and TMEM64 are associated with osteoporosis in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PMID: 31814858). Tmem64 is involved in the metastatic progression of prostate cancer cells by regulating Wnt3a secretion (PMID: 31289498).
