Background Information
TMEM119 (Transmembrane Protein 119), also known as OBIF (Osteoblast Induction Factor), is a type I transmembrane protein that serves as a highly specific marker for resident microglia in the central nervous system (CNS). TMEM119 immunohistochemistry might provide a useful tool for investigating the biology and pathology of human microglia(PMID: 26250788).
