Background Information
TERT,also named as EST2, TCS1 and TRT, belongs to the reverse transcriptase family and Telomerase subfamily. Telomerase is a ribonucleoprotein enzyme essential for the replication of chromosome termini in most eukaryotes. Activation of telomerase has been implicated in cell immortalization and cancer cell pathogenesis. TERT elongates telomeres by adding simple sequence repeats to chromosome ends. TERT can modulate Wnt signaling and plays important roles in aging and antiapoptosis. Mutation of TERT are associated with susceptibilty to aplastic anemia (AA), coronary artery disease (CAD), dyskeratosis congenita autosomal dominant (ADDKC) and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Catalog#18994-1-AP is rabbit polyclonal antibody that can recognize all the 3 TERT isoforms.
