SLC30A1, also known as ZnT1, is a putative zinc transporter that can prevent cellular zinc toxicity via plasma membrane efflux. SLC30A1 is an integral membrane protein with a deduced length of 507 aa and is predicted to contain six transmembrane-spanning domains (PMID: 15378655).
