Background Information
Sterile alpha motif domain-containing protein 4B (SAMD4B) is also named as Smaug2. SAMD4B is a mammalian homologue of the Smaug protein of Drosophila melanogaster and can participate in the process of regulating RNA stability as a posttranscriptional inhibitor (PMID: 23592795). SAMD4B is expressed in most human embryos and adult tissue (PMID: 23592795). SAMD4B, especially its expression level, could affect the immune microenvironment (PMID: 38886351).
