Background Information
RAB7B encodes a small GTPase that binds and hydrolyzes GTP and functions in vesicle trafficking. The protein, Ras-related protein Rab-7b, is localized to the Golgi apparatus, late endosome, lysosome, and phagocytic vesicle, placing it in compartments that support intracellular transport and sorting. Its expression is detected in skin, the proximal digestive tract, and the female reproductive system.
