Background Information
Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 13B (TNFRSF13B, also known as CD267) is a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily. It is a receptor for TNFSF13/APRIL and TNFSF13B/TALL1/BAFF/BLYS, binding both ligands with similar high affinity. TNFRSF13B plays a crucial role in humoral immunity by mediating activation of transcription factors and is involved in the stimulation of B- and T-cell function. It also promotes T-cell independent antibody responses and plasma cell differentiation, counteracting BAFF-driven B-cell activation. Additionally, the concentration of plasma TNFSF13B may be correlated with immune thrombocytopenia.
