Background
Mst1r (macrophage-stimulating 1 receptor), encodes a cell surface receptor for macrophage-stimulating 1 (MST1, also known as MSP) with tyrosine kinase activity. Mst1r is critical for innate immunity and plays an important role for host defense against viral infection. The upregulation of MST1R tyrosine kinase expression is a molecular event of particular interest in many epithelial neoplasms, as it can mediate oncogenic phenotypes and addiction to KRAS signaling.
