Product Information

KE10188 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The mouse IL-4RA/CD124 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous mouse IL-4RA/CD124. The assay recognizes mouse IL-4RA/CD124. An antibody specific for mouse IL-4RA/CD124 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The mouse IL-4RA/CD124 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for mouse IL-4RA/CD124 is added to detect the captured mouse IL-4RA/CD124 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information

IL-4Rα (IL-4 receptor alpha chain, also known as CD124) is an important member of the cytokine receptor family, primarily involved in immune responses and cellular signal transduction. It is a single-pass transmembrane protein that binds to IL-4 and IL-13 through its extracellular domain, activating the JAK/STAT signaling pathway to regulate cell proliferation, differentiation, and function. IL-4Rα is expressed in various immune cells (such as T cells, B cells, and macrophages) and is crucial for Th2 cell-mediated immune responses. In allergic diseases (such as asthma and atopic dermatitis), IL-4Rα plays a key role by promoting the production of IgE antibodies and the activation of inflammatory cells. Additionally, IL-4Rα is involved in the regulation of autoimmune diseases and the tumor microenvironment. Studying the signaling pathways and functional mechanisms of IL-4Rα helps to develop new therapeutic strategies for allergies, inflammation, and cancer.
