Product Information
KE10214 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The mouse IL-13RA2 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous mouse IL-13RA2. The assay recognizes mouse IL-13RA2. An antibody specific for mouse IL-13RA2 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The mouse IL-13RA2 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for mouse IL-13RA2 is added to detect the captured mouse IL-13RA2 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
IL-13RA2, also known as IL-13R and CD213a2, belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family. It binds as a monomer with high affinity to interleukin-13 (IL-13), but not to interleukin-4 (IL-4). IL-13RA2 lacks the cytoplasmic domain for signaling, indicating that it acts as a decoy receptor. IL13RA2 polymorphisms have been associated with systemic sclerosis. Overexpression of IL-13RA2 has been reported in several types of cancer, including melanoma, lung cancer, and brain tumor, which makes it a potential immunotherapeutic target.
