Product Information

KE10184 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The mouse IFNGR1 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous mouse IFNGR1. The assay recognizes mouse IFNGR1. An antibody specific for mouse IFNGR1 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The mouse IFNGR1 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for mouse IFNGR1 is added to detect the captured mouse IFNGR1 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information

IFNGR1 (Interferon Gamma Receptor 1) is a cytokine critical for innate and adaptive immunity against viral and intracellular bacterial infections and for tumor control. Cellular responses to IFN-γ are activated through its interaction with a heterodimeric receptor consisting of two subunits, IFNGR1 (CD119) and IFNGR2. IFNGR1 is the ligand-binding subunit which binds IFN-γ with high affinity, whereas IFNGR2 serves as the accessory subunit. Two subunits bind one IFN-γ dimer. Defects in IFNGR1 are a cause of mendelian susceptibility to mycobacterial disease (MSMD), also known as familial disseminated atypical mycobacterial infection.
