Background

EPHA2 (Eph receptor A2) is a type I single-transmembrane protein belonging to the Ephrin receptor subfamily of the receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) family. This protein consists of an extracellular ligand-binding domain, a transmembrane domain, and an intracellular kinase domain, and is widely expressed on the surface of epithelial cells, endothelial cells, and various tumor cells. Under physiological conditions, EPHA2 participates in cell migration, adhesion, angiogenesis, and tissue boundary formation by binding to its ligands, such as Ephrin-A1. Under pathological conditions, abnormalities in the Epha2 signaling pathway are closely related to tumor progression, metastasis, and drug resistance.
