Background
CD5-like (CD5L) is a 40-kDa soluble glycoprotein that belongs to the SRCR superfamily. CD5L is secreted primarily from macrophages in lymphoid tissues during inflammatory response.CD5L modulates the activity of macrophages in a wide spectrum of settings, including the pathogenesis of several infectious and inflammatory processes. CD5L plays important roles in many diseases, such as metabolic syndrome, acute kidney injury as well as cardiac rejection.
