Background
CD94 is a NKC-encoded molecule that forms heterodimeric receptors with NKC-encoded NKG2A, -C, and -E in the mouse and NKG2A, -C, and -E in humans. Despite their name and close linkage, these NKG2s are structurally and functionally unrelated to NKG2D and NKG2D does not pair with CD94.
