Product Information
KE10171 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The mouse CD84 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous mouse CD84. The assay recognizes mouse CD84. An antibody specific for mouse CD84 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The mouse CD84 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for mouse CD84 is added to detect the captured mouse CD84 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
CD84, also known as SLAMF5, is a member of the CD2 subfamily of the immunoglobulin receptor superfamily. CD84 is a single-chain type-I glycoprotein composed of two extracellular Ig-like domains, a hydrophobic transmembrane region, and a cytoplasmic domain. It is broadly expressed on almost all leukocyte subsets. CD84 functions as a homophilic adhesion molecule, whose signaling can activate or inhibit leukocyte function depending on the cell type and its stage of activation or differentiation.
