Product Information
KE10155 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The mouse CD2 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous mouse CD2. The assay recognizes mouse CD2. An antibody specific for mouse CD2 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The mouse CD2 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for mouse CD2 is added to detect the captured mouse CD2 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
CD2 is a transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily expressed on the surface of T cells, NK cells, thymocytes, and dendritic cells. The CD2 antigen was identified as one of the earliest T cell markers and was shown to be important for thymocyte development. CD2 stimuli were mandatory for Treg cell survival with reduced Bim expression. Moreover, its down-regulation may attenuate anti-tumor T-cell responses with implications for checkpoint immunotherapies.
