Product Information
KE10110 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The mouse Angiopoietin-like 3/ANGPTL3 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous mouse Angiopoietin-like 3/ANGPTL3. The assay recognizes mouse Angiopoietin-like 3/ANGPTL3. An antibody specific for mouse Angiopoietin-like 3/ANGPTL3 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The mouse Angiopoietin-like 3/ANGPTL3 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for mouse Angiopoietin-like 3/ANGPTL3 is added to detect the captured mouse Angiopoietin-like 3/ANGPTL3 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
ANGPTL3 is a secreted glycoprotein primarily synthesized by hepatocytes and belongs to the angiopoietin-like protein family. ANGPTL3 plays a critical role in both biological processes, such as lipid metabolism, angiogenesis, and hematopoietic function, and pathological changes, including atherosclerosis, carcinogenesis, nephrotic syndrome, diabetes, liver diseases and so on. ANGPTL3 inhibits low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and endothelial lipase (EL), two enzymes that hydrolyze triglycerides and phospholipids in plasma lipoproteins. ANGPTL3-deficient mice showed low plasma HDL cholesterol and HDL phospholipid (PL). ANGPTL3 can also regulate triglyceride metabolism by inhibiting lipoprotein lipase (LPL). ANGPTL3-deficient mice exhibit hypotriglyceridemia and elevated LPL activity.
