Background Information
LRRK2, also termed Dardarin and PARK8, belongs to the protein kinase superfamily and TKL Ser/Thr protein kinase family. It is a protein kinase whose role is not yet known. LRRK2 may play a role in the phosphorylation of proteins central to Parkinson disease. It may also have GTPase activity (PMID:16352719). Defects in LRRK2 are the causes of Parkinson disease type 8 (PARK8). This antibody is specific to LRRK2.
