Product Information
Optimize Antibody Performance for IHC
Proteintech Immunohistochemistry Antibody Diluent is specially formulated for dilution of primary and secondary antibodies used in immunohistochemistry (IHC). Its optimized formulation combines proteins, small-molecule stabilizers, inert proteins, reaction-enhancing compounds, and a pathology-grade preservative to help maintain antibody activity and stability while reducing nonspecific background staining.
Key Benefits
• Helps maintain antibody activity and stability during dilution and storage.
• Reduces nonspecific binding to help minimize background staining.
• Accelerates IHC reactions, potentially reducing reaction times by approximately one-third compared with conventional methods.
• Compatible with HRP-based detection systems.
• Supports extended storage of diluted antibodies, depending on the stability of the individual antibody.
• Available in multiple convenient sizes for routine and high-throughput IHC workflows.
Designed for Reliable IHC Workflows
• Maintain Antibody Stability. The formulation contains proteins and small-molecule stabilizers designed to help preserve antibody activity and stability after dilution.
• Depending on the inherent stability of the antibody, diluted antibodies may be stored for several months to up to 3 years, potentially eliminating the need to prepare fresh antibody dilutions for every short-term experiment.
• Reduce Background. Inert proteins with different molecular weights and properties help reduce nonspecific antibody binding, supporting cleaner staining and lower nonspecific background.
• Speed Up Reactions. Specialized compounds in the formulation promote reaction rates, allowing antibodies diluted with PR30016 to potentially achieve approximately one-third shorter reaction times compared with conventional methods.
• Compatible with HRP Detection. A pathology-grade preservative is incorporated into the formulation, making PR30016 compatible with HRP-based IHC detection systems.
Applications
Recommended for:
• Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
• Primary antibody dilution
• Secondary antibody dilution
• HRP-based IHC detection workflows

Storage
Store at 4°C. Shelf life: 1 year. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Recommended Use
Dilute primary or secondary antibodies according to the antibody manufacturer's recommended dilution or based on experimentally determined dilution conditions. Add the appropriate amount of PR30016 to achieve the desired antibody dilution.
Important: Do not shake vigorously. Vigorous shaking may generate excessive bubbles.
Stability of Diluted Antibodies
The storage stability of diluted antibodies depends on the characteristics of the individual antibody. In the original product validation, diluted antibodies may remain suitable for storage from several months to up to 3 years.
For a specific antibody, the recommended storage period can be established using accelerated stability testing at 37°C together with real-time stability testing.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
