Product Information
KE00665 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human p63 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human p63. The assay recognizes human p63. An antibody specific for human p63 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human p63 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human p63 is added to detect the captured human p63 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
p63 is a member of the p53 family, which also includes p73. Like other members of the p53 family, the TP63 gene is expressed as multiple isoforms with distinct properties, including a full length and an amino-deleted isoform, named TAp63 andΔNp63, respectively. These isoforms have diverse functions and are involved in a wide range of biological processes. p63 plays a crucial role in the development and homeostasis of epithelial tissues. It regulates genes associated with cell survival, stem cell self-renewal, migration, differentiation, and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition. Specifically, p63 is essential for the development of epithelial tissues such as the epidermis, mammary glands, and other stratified epithelia. In pathological conditions, p63 is commonly expressed in normal tissues of epithelial origin and in lesions derived from these tissues.
