Product Information
KE00838 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human WAPL ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human WAPL. The assay recognizes human WAPL. An antibody specific for human WAPL has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human WAPL protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human WAPL is added to detect the captured human WAPL protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
WAPL protein regulates binding of the cohesin complex to chromosomes during interphase and helps remove cohesin from chromosomes at mitosis. By dissociating cohesin from chromatin WAPL is a key regulator in a cycle of loading and unloading that is collectively referred to as cohesin turnover. WAPL is required for various cellular process including sister chromatid resolution and DNA repair.
