Product Information
KE00693 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human UTX ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human UTX. The assay recognizes human UTX. An antibody specific for human UTX has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human UTX protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human UTX is added to detect the captured human UTX protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
UTX protein, also known as KDM6A, is a histone demethylase whose main function is to remove the methylation modification of lysine 27 (H3K27) on histone H3, thereby activating the transcription of target genes and playing a vital role in epigenetic regulation. UTX plays an important role in embryonic development and cell differentiation, affecting cell fate determination and tissue-specific function by regulating the expression of specific genes. This protein is a component of the COMPASS-like complex, which includes the histone methyltransferase MLL4 (KMT2D) and other related proteins.
