Product Information
KE00805 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human TREM-1/CD354 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human TREM-1/CD354. The assay recognizes human TREM-1/CD354. An antibody specific for human TREM-1/CD354 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human TREM-1/CD354 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human TREM-1/CD354 is added to detect the captured human TREM-1/CD354 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
Triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells-1 (TREM-1, also known as CD354) is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It plays a crucial role in the innate immune response to bacterial and fungal infections by triggering the release of pro-inflammatory chemokines and cytokines and increasing the surface expression of cell activation markers. TREM-1 also exists as a soluble receptor (sTREM-1) that arises from proteolytic cleavage of the membrane-bound receptor by matrix metalloproteases. The serum levels of sTREM-1 may correlate with disease severity and treatment outcomes in pulmonary tuberculosis patients.
