Background Information
TNFRSF13C, also known as BAFF receptor (BAFF-R) or CD268, is a receptor for B-cell activating factor (BAFF) and a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily. This receptor is expressed mainly in B cells and is crucial for B cell survival and maturation. TNFRSF13C is the principal receptor required for BAFF-mediated mature B-cell survival and plays a significant role in regulating the peripheral B-cell population. Additionally, BAFF-R may be a novel treatment target for primary central nervous system lymphoma.
