Product Information
KE00410 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human TNC/Tenascin-C ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human TNC/Tenascin-C. The assay recognizes human TNC/Tenascin-C. An antibody specific for human TNC/Tenascin-C has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human TNC/Tenascin-C protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human TNC/Tenascin-C is added to detect the captured human TNC/Tenascin-C protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
Tenascin-C (TNC) is a large hexameric extracellular matrix glycoprotein of the tenascin family. It is a multimodular protein containing multiple epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like repeats and fibronectin type III (FN III) domains. Tenascin-C is highly expressed during embryonic development, particularly in the developing central nervous system, around motile cells and at epithelial-mesenchymal interaction sites. In adult tissues, the expression and the distribution of TNC are typically limited under normal physiological conditions. It is upregulated during injury, inflammation, regeneration, and cancer. Tenascin-C is a diverse protein that can produce different functions including regulating cell adhesion, migration and proliferation.
