Product Information
KE00757 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human TMEM16A/DOG1 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human TMEM16A/DOG1. The assay recognizes human TMEM16A/DOG1. An antibody specific for human TMEM16A/DOG1 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human TMEM16A/DOG1 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human TMEM16A/DOG1 is added to detect the captured human TMEM16A/DOG1 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
TMEM16A/DOG1 gene encodes a member of Ca2+ activated Cl- channels (CaCCs) that are critical for physiological functions, such as epithelial secretion, smooth muscle contraction and sensory signal transduction. TMEM16A/DOG1 has been reported to be a valuable target in noncancerous diseases. In cancer, TMEM16A/DOG1 was originally recognized to be positively expressed in gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) and was more well‐recognized as DOG1 (Discovered On GISTs protein 1).
