Product Information
KE00947 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human TIMM44 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human TIMM44. The assay recognizes human TIMM44. An antibody specific for human TIMM44 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human TIMM44 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human TIMM44 is added to detect the captured human TIMM44 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
TIMM44 (translocase of inner mitochondrial membrane 44) locates in the inner mitochondrial membrane . In a ATP-dependent manner, TIMM44 anchors mitochondrial heat shock protein 70 to the translocase of the mitochondrial inner membrane 23 (TIMM23) complex . TIMM44 modulates mitochondrial pre-proteins' import to the mitochondrial matrix. This process requires appropriate inner membrane potential and ATP production through mtHsp70.
