Product Information
KE00989 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human TIGAR ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human TIGAR. The assay recognizes human TIGAR. An antibody specific for human TIGAR has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human TIGAR protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human TIGAR is added to detect the captured human TIGAR protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
TP53-induced glycolysis and apoptosis regulator (TIGAR) is a downstream target gene of p53 and an important factor involved in glycolysis and apoptosis. It is indispensable in metabolism and is involved in metabolic syndrome, including hyperglycemia, insulin resistance, alcoholic fatty liver and tissue ischemia. TIGAR is highly expressed in many cancer cells to promote cell survival. TIGAR can aggravate myocardial ischemia injury and heart failure in animal and cell models.
