Product Information
KE00685 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human STK39 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human STK39. The assay recognizes human STK39. An antibody specific for human STK39 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human STK39 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human STK39 is added to detect the captured human STK39 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
STK39 (Serine/Threonine Kinase 39) is a proline- and alanine-rich Ste20-related kinase (also named as SPAK), which is composed of a short N-terminal proline and alanine repeats (PAPA box), a kinase catalytic domain and a C-terminal regulatory domain. In mammalians, STK39 plays an important role in ion homeostasis by regulating the cation chloride cotransporters' activities, which is crucial for the modulation of renal salt transport and blood pressure. Notably, STK39 is also implicated in the regulation of tumor cell proliferation, migration, and invasion in multiple cancers, including osteosarcoma and cervical cancer.
