Product Information
KE00509 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human SOX4 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human SOX4. The assay recognizes human SOX4. An antibody specific for human SOX4 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human SOX4 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human SOX4 is added to detect the captured human SOX4 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
SOX4 is a transcription factor belonging to the SOX family, which is crucial for embryonic development and cell fate determination. It is located on chromosome 6p22.3 in humans and encodes a protein of 474 amino acids with three distinguishable domains: a high mobility group (HMG) box, a glycine-rich region, and a serine-rich region. This protein regulates gene expression by binding to DNA and interacting with other proteins, thereby influencing cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. SOX4 has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and atherosclerosis, due to its role in promoting cell proliferation and survival. For instance, SOX4 is highly expressed in several cancers, such as non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), and is associated with poor prognosis. It can induce epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), enhancing cancer cell invasion and metastasis. Additionally, SOX4 contributes to atherosclerosis by regulating endothelial cell function. Its diverse functions and involvement in multiple signaling pathways make SOX4 a significant focus in both basic research and clinical studies.
