KE00372 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human SORBS2 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human SORBS2. The assay recognizes human SORBS2. An antibody specific for human SORBS2 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human SORBS2 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human SORBS2 is added to detect the captured human SORBS2 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
SORBS2 also known as ARGBP2, has three C-terminal SH3 domains and an N-terminal sorbin homology (SoHo) domain that interacts with lipid raft proteins. SORBS2 is widely expressed in human tissues and extremely abundant in the heart. In epithelial cells SORBS2 is located in stress fibers and the nucleus; In cardiac muscle cells. SORBS2 is situated in the Z-disks of sarcomeres. The subcellular localization suggests that SORBS2 functions as an adapter protein to assemble signaling complexes in stress fibers, and may influence the contractile or elastic properties of cardiac sarcomeres. The expression of SORBS2 was downregulated in pancreatic adenocarcinomas and is linked to cell adhesion and migration.
