Product Information
KE00879 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human SOCS3 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human SOCS3. The assay recognizes human SOCS3. An antibody specific for human SOCS3 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human SOCS3 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human SOCS3 is added to detect the captured human SOCS3 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
The suppressor of cytokine signaling (SOCS) family proteins are negative feedback system that inhibits cytokine signal transduction. One of the SOCS family, SOCS3, also named CIS3 and SSI3, is involved in inhibition of JAK/STAT pathway which regulates IL-6 signaling in vivo. SOCS3 can be rapidly trigger by a number of factors including interleukins, IFN-gamma and TNF-alpha. Pathology such as inflammatory response, wound repair and obesity and so on have been linked to SOCS3.
