Product Information
KE00890 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human RFC1 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human RFC1. The assay recognizes human RFC1. An antibody specific for human RFC1 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human RFC1 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human RFC1 is added to detect the captured human RFC1 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
Replication factor C subunit 1 (RFC1) is a key component of the replication factor C (RFC) complex, which is essential for DNA replication and repair. The RFC complex functions as a DNA-dependent ATPase that catalyzes the opening of the DNA-clamp protein proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA), allowing it to encircle DNA and act as a scaffold to recruit DNA polymerases and other proteins involved in DNA replication and repair. RFC1 is also involved in various DNA damage response pathways, including DNA damage recognition, recruitment of DNA repair machinery, base and nucleotide excision repair, mismatch repair, and promotion of cell survival.
