Product Information
KE01008 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human PSIP1 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human PSIP1. The assay recognizes human PSIP1. An antibody specific for human PSIP1 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human PSIP1 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human PSIP1 is added to detect the captured human PSIP1 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
PSIP1 also known as LEDGF, is a crucial protein in human cells that functions primarily as a transcriptional co-activator. PSIP1 binds to methylated histone H3 lysine 36 (H3K36me) via the PWWP domain, and PSIP1 binding is enriched at the sites of RNAPII transcription. Two isoforms of PSIP1/LEDGF have been described, p75 and p52, which both contain the H3K36me2/3 binding PWWP domain. PSIP1 plays a central role in regulating gene expression, stress responses, and, most notably, is a critical co-factor for the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Its dual role in fundamental cellular processes and disease pathogenesis makes it a significant protein in molecular biology and medicine.
