Product Information
KE00971 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human PPA1 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human PPA1. The assay recognizes human PPA1. An antibody specific for human PPA1 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human PPA1 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human PPA1 is added to detect the captured human PPA1 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
PPA1 (Inorganic pyrophosphatase) , also named as IOPPP, PP and PPase, is an enzyme indispensable for maintaining energy metabolism and belongs to Soluble Pyrophosphatases (PPase) family. It maintains the thermodynamic favorability of these reactions by catalyzing the hydrolysis of pyrophosphates into organic phosphates, which are then exported across the cell membrane. The erythrocyte inorganic pyrophosphatase molecule would appear to be a dimer. PPA1 is highly expressed in a variety of tumors and is involved in proliferation, invasion, and metastasis during tumor development, through the JNK/p53, Wnt/β-catenin, and PI3K/AKT/GSK-3β signaling pathways.
