Product Information
KE00759 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human PISD ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human PISD. The assay recognizes human PISD. An antibody specific for human PISD has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human PISD protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human PISD is added to detect the captured human PISD protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
PISD (Phosphatidylserine decarboxylase proenzyme) belongs to the phosphatidylserine decarboxylase family. It contains a conserved LGST motif that functions as an autocatalytic cleavage site where the proenzyme is split into mature alpha and beta subunits. It has 2 isoforms produced by alternative splicing. PISD protein is mainly located in the inner membrane of mitochondria and catalyzes the conversion of phosphatidylserine (PS) to phosphatidylethanolamine (PE).
