Product Information
KE00944 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human PFKFB2 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human PFKFB2. The assay recognizes human PFKFB2. An antibody specific for human PFKFB2 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human PFKFB2 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human PFKFB2 is added to detect the captured human PFKFB2 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
PFKFB2(6-Phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose 2,6-bisphosphatase 2) is also named as PFK-2/FBPase-2, which is a bifunctional enzyme responsible for the synthesis and breakdown of Fru-2,6-P2 in the regulation of glycolysis. PFKFB2 regulates glucose metabolism by controlling the level of fructose-2,6-bisphosphate. In the C-terminal section, it belongs to the phosphoglycerate mutase family. The enzyme is a dimer of identical subunits, each composed of 505 amino acids and containing three discrete domains. It has 2 isoforms produced by alternative splicing.
