Product Information
KE00758 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human PDGFR alpha/CD140a ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human PDGFR alpha/CD140a. The assay recognizes human PDGFR alpha/CD140a. An antibody specific for human PDGFR alpha/CD140a has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human PDGFR alpha/CD140a protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human PDGFR alpha/CD140a is added to detect the captured human PDGFR alpha/CD140a protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
PDGFR alpha (Platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha), also known as CD140a, is a cell surface receptor tyrosine kinase that plays a crucial role in various biological processes. PDGFR alpha has been shown to regulate angiogenesis both in normal and pathological conditions, mainly stimulating the production of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Moreover, PDGFR alpha expression is correlated with aggressive disease and significantly worse patient survival in pediatric high-grade gliomas and hepatocellular carcinoma.
