Product Information
KE00544 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human PARP2 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human PARP2. The assay recognizes human PARP2. An antibody specific for human PARP2 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human PARP2 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human PARP2 is added to detect the captured human PARP2 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
PARP2, also named as ADPRT2 and ADPRTL2, is involved in the base excision repair (BER) pathway, by catalyzing the poly(ADP-ribosyl)ation of a limited number of acceptor proteins involved in chromatin architecture and in DNA metabolism. PARP2 protect from illegitimate recombinations in the context of high genomic instability, which contains an N-terminal regulatory domain and a C-terminal enzymatic domain. PARP2 itself gets activated by PAR and plays an important role in the branched PAR chain polymerization.
