Product Information
KE00529 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human PAR2 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human PAR2. The assay recognizes human PAR2. An antibody specific for human PAR2 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human PAR2 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human PAR2 is added to detect the captured human PAR2 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
PAR2 (Protease-activated receptor 2) is a self-activated G protein-coupled receptor implicated in several diseases, including inflammatory, gastrointestinal, respiratory, metabolic, and cancers. PAR2 is found in all tissues, including vessels, immune-competent cells, epithelial cell layers, and all organs, including the heart and brain. Moreover, PAR2 has been found to play a role in the development of kidney disease by promoting the production of inflammatory mediators in tubular epithelial cells. PAR2 is an important prospective drug target.
