Product Information
KE00488 is a solid phase sandwich Enzyme Linked-Immuno-Sorbent Assay (Sandwich ELISA). The human PAK4 ELISA kit is to be used to detect and quantify protein levels of endogenous human PAK4. The assay recognizes human PAK4. An antibody specific for human PAK4 has been pre-coated onto the microwells. The human PAK4 protein in samples is captured by the coated antibody after incubation. Following extensive washing, another horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-conjugated antibody specific for human PAK4 is added to detect the captured human PAK4 protein. For signal development, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent. Solution containing sulfuric acid is used to stop color development and the color intensity which is proportional to the quantity of bound protein is measurable at 450 nm with the correction wavelength set at 630 nm.

Background Information
PAK4 (p21-activated kinase 4) is a serine/threonine kinase that plays a crucial role in regulating various cellular processes, including cell proliferation, survival, migration, and cytoskeletal dynamics. PAK4 is involved in several signaling pathways that are important for cellular homeostasis and development. Dysregulation of PAK4 activity has been implicated in various diseases, particularly cancer, where it contributes to tumorigenesis by promoting cell survival and migration. Additionally, PAK4 is thought to participate in the regulation of neurogenesis and synaptic plasticity. Given its pivotal role in cell signaling and disease, PAK4 has become a potential target for therapeutic interventions in cancer and other disorders. Inhibition of PAK4 has been shown to impair tumor growth in preclinical models, making it a promising candidate for drug development.
